I live in this magical little town whose tagline is “where the sun meets the rain.” I’ve never been anywhere with so many rainbows. I’ve even seen a few triple rainbows; jaw-dropping, surreal, gone-in-a-flash moments. This morning, as the rain drifts in and the sun keeps showing up between the clouds, I find myself smiling. Rainbows are out. Simple pleasures.
Rainbows happen because light bends at 42 degrees inside a raindrop, refracting into a spectrum of color. In numerology, 42 is also considered a beacon of spiritual hope. Maybe that’s why a rainbow has always felt like more than weather. More like an omen, a wink, a promise.
The partial painting at the top is my 42 Degrees piece. She came through to remind me of this: when we’re living in alignment, our own 42, the energy that moves through us has the potential to reflect outward as pure color, beauty and truth. We are the rainbow.
What does that look like in practice? Coherence.
When the heart, mind, and emotions are aligned, something shifts. There’s clarity. There’s vitality. There’s a steadiness that allows us to contribute from fullness instead of depletion.
The journey of painting her helped me understand how to co-create more consciously. I asked myself: Can I shine my light more precisely, more directly, more powerfully than before? The answer surprised me in its simplicity. Yes, yes, I can.
And I believe many of us are doing exactly that right now, not because it’s convenient, but because life is asking us to get honest about what matters. What we will stand for. What we won’t tolerate. How to hold steady with grace (or occasionally a storm) as we navigate it all.
So I want to pause and celebrate us—those of us who are contributing our threads to this larger tapestry in whatever way we are able.
Yes, there is so much to transform.
And yes, we are already doing it … quietly (perhaps), wildly, creatively, imperfectly, brilliantly.
So here’s your invitation this week: Live your 42. Can you align and let what moves through you bend into color, reflecting your unique flavor on it as it goes out into the world? The world will be a richer place if you can.
I honor you for being here, in this time, offering what is yours to offer. Thank you for walking this journey alongside me.
